30 Days of Me: Day 4

Today's topic is my favorite book.

First of all, bare with me. I have a terrible headache, so this blog is going to be a short one tonight.

I really can't say that I have a favorite book. I really don't read very much anymore. I used to read a lot more when I was younger, I even did the summer reading program every year through our local library. I usually had all my books finish with in two weeks. Now, however, I just haven't been interested in reading. I know I should read more often, but I just lost interest. Got lazy, is probably more like it, but still.

The last books that I've read (which I'm sure some of you will laugh at me for) was the Twilight series. I really liked reading them. They were very entertaining, and I liked the books a lot better than the movies. Although, they did do a pretty good job of making the movies pretty close to the books. There were some differences, as with any book turned movie, but all in all, it wasn't bad.

The series before that, was the Sookie Stackhouse series. I gave up after the 3rd or 4th book, it got too weird for me. I love the show (True Blood) though. They've changed it a lot from the book, and I like the direction it's going. I've been thinking about trying to read the books again. Maybe I'll pick up where I left off here soon. I dunno.

If anyone has any good books they'd like to suggest, I'm all ears. I should really start reading again, but a book has to suck me in fast, or I can't read it. I hate dry books, too boring, and my attention span isn't very long. Haha.

Actually, now that I am remembering better, the last book I read was Dear John. It was actually a really good book, and I cried through damn near the whole thing. Yes, that's right, I cried through a book. lol. Mom and I actually went to see the movie when it came out. I was greatly disappointed. They changed the entire ending of the book, and messed everything up.

Anyway, that's all I really feel like typing for now, and I'm sure this has been a pretty boring read, so I'll end it now. =)

30 Days of Me: Day 3

Today's topic is my favorite television show.

Like with my music, my favorite show changes often. If I had to pick one that I've stuck with over the years, it would have to be Roseanne. I absolutely LOVE that show, in fact, I'm getting ready to watch it now. It's so funny, and I love that it's not your conventional TV family. Despite the insults and fights, they're still close, and always there for each other.

I think the main reason I love this show is because it reminds me a lot of my family. We never had a lot of money growing up, and we never always got along. Hell, to this day we fight constantly. =) No matter how much we fight, or how much we "hate" each other, when something happens, we're always there to help each other.

My other favorite shows right now are Family Guy, Futurama, King of the Hill, (yes I LOVE "adult" cartoons. Ok, all cartoons...) Weeds, The Big C, Big Love, Hung, True Blood, and a few others.

30 Days of Me: Day 2

Today's topic is my favorite movie. Luckily, I have one of those!! My favorite movie, hands down is A Knight's Tale.

I have many reasons that it is my favorite. First of all, it's absolutely hilarious. I can quote almost every line from the movie. One of my favorite quotes, happens when they meet Chaucer. After they've agreed to take him along on the journey, Wat tells him "Uh, betray us, and I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip… all the p… ugh. Pain, lots of pain." Just the way he says it kills me!

My favorite part of the movie, is Jocelyn's letter. It's so beautiful, and the words mean so much. When Justin was in bootcamp, and on his first deployment, he would send me quotes from the letter. Here is my favorite quote from the letter. "Hope guides me. It is what gets me through the day, and especially the night. The hope that after you're gone from my sight, it will not be the last time that I look upon you."

My dearest Jocelyn,
It is strange to think, I haven't seen you since a month. I have seen the new moon, but not you. I have seen sunsets and sunrises, but nothing of your beautiful face. The pieces of my broken heart are so small that they can be passed through the eye of a needle. I miss you like the sun misses the flower; like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter. Instead of beauty to direct its light to, the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has banished me to. I next compete in the city of Paris, I will find it empty and in the winter if you are not there. Hope guides me, it is what gets me through the day and especially the night. The hope that after you're gone from my sight, it will not be the last time that I look upon you.

With all the love that I possess, I remain yours. The knight of your heart.

Random fun fact, Justin and I intend on naming our first girl Jocelyn. =)

Another reason I love the movie (which we have 2 copies of. haha!) is Heath Ledger. He was always one of my favorite actors. He's absolutely gorgeous, and I LOVE his accent! Although, his best performance was, hands down, The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Anyway,I could go on forever about this movie, but I'll stop boring you for now! =)

30 Days of Me: Day 1

So, today is the first day of my "30 Days of me". Today's topic, my favorite song.

It seems like this would be an easy topic, except for the fact that I don't really have a favorite song. I like all kinds of music, and I have many preferred songs from each genre, but no real favorite. The songs that I do consider my favorites, rotate daily, weekly, or monthly.

For instance, I really like country music. One of my favorite artists is Carrie Underwood. I absolutely love her voice! She has always been a great singer, but over the years she's only gotten better. I also love Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and the Dixie Chicks. I grew up listening/singing to their music, and every time I hear one of their songs on the radio, it reminds me of being little. I loved locking myself in my room, blasting my radio, and singing along. Haha! Who am I kidding, I still do that today!

Basically, my favorite songs are songs that I can sing to. I love to sing. It is my favorite past time. It's what I do when I'm happy, sad, stressed, scared, etc. It's what keeps me company when I'm alone. Music puts me to sleep, and wakes me up in the morning. It's the one thing that can come from anything. Music doesn't have to be songs and lyrics. I doesn't have to make sense. I can make you laugh, cry, think, wonder, imagine. Music tells stories. Music can be anything from a song on the radio, to the rain falling on the ground, or leaves blowing in the wind.

If you couldn't tell already, music is my life. I was in the marching band in High School, as well as the Chamber Chior. I'll never forget the memories that were made, the crazy things that we did, and the trouble we got into during that time.

Well, now I'm starting to ramble, and I think you've all got the picture. So I'll leave you with one of my favorite songs this week. Enjoy!
